Workplace Assessor Training Presentation

Welcome to the Workplace Assessor Training Presentation, led by Emma Wood, Partnership Manager for Workplace at Brain in Hand.

This short training session is designed to help workplace assessors understand how Brain in Hand supports neurodivergent employees - including autistic and ADHD individuals, as well as those with anxiety-based mental health challenges - through a blend of personalised coaching and digital tools.

What Brain in Hand Does

Brain in Hand is a digital coaching platform that empowers people to manage anxiety, improve organisation, and build independence at work.

We combine:

  • 1:1 coaching with a qualified, neurodiversity-trained coach (up to 15 hours per year), and

  • a personalised app, which includes:

    • a diary and planning tool for routines and tasks

    • solution packs to guide users through common challenges

    • a mood tracking tool using the traffic light system

    • 24/7 on-demand human support, available whenever it’s needed

Our coaching doesn’t end when the session does — it continues through our app, helping people apply strategies in real time.

A Real Example: Connor’s Story

In the presentation, we meet Connor, a neurodivergent employee who uses Brain in Hand to stay organised, manage overwhelm, and navigate challenging situations at work.

Through coaching and daily use of the app, Connor:

  • Plans ahead to prevent burnout and manage hyperfocus

  • Tracks moods and triggers using the traffic light tool

  • Accesses immediate support when anxious or stuck

  • Reviews progress with his coach to keep improving

This story illustrates how Brain in Hand gives people practical strategies they can use every day — turning potential crises into manageable moments.

How the App Works

The video walkthrough shows key Brain in Hand features in action:

  • Traffic lights: quick self-check-ins to monitor wellbeing or energy

  • Solution packs: tailored strategies for common workplace challenges

  • Diary view: daily planning and integration with external calendars

  • Unplanned strategies: on-demand help for unexpected moments

  • Timeline: a personal record of progress, coaching sessions, and insights

Each feature helps users stay proactive, reflective, and supported — even in fast-paced or unpredictable environments.

Our Coaching Approach

Before coaching begins, users complete a short questionnaire so sessions can be personalised around their needs.

Brain in Hand coaches are:

  • Qualified through the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM)

  • Working to the ethical standards of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC)

  • Experienced in supporting neurodivergent individuals and those with anxiety or mental health challenges

Coaching focuses on trust, reflection, and action — building strategies that genuinely work for each individual.
