Managing unexpected changes: Coping with a lecture change
The student has been attending lectures in the faculty building, but a late notice change means lectures and tutorials will be taking place in another location for the short- term future. The new location is on a different campus and takes longer to get to, creating anxiety for the student.
With Brain in Hand
The student used Brain in Hand to access their solution packs which they created with their coach when they set up the app. This included helpful solutions, tips and advice on how to deal with disruption. Using the diary function set up with custom reminders and prompts, it helped to plan and take into account the new travel time and travel route so they could plan to get there in good time.
The student rescheduled their daily timetable including any changes to the amount of unstructured time they had and to ensure they maintained time for breaks, lunch and travel.
They were also able to press the life ring icon at any time to speak to a trained responder 24/7 who helped the student to deescalate any future stressful situations should they arise and help them address the disruption in a calm and grounded way.

The results
The student felt more in control and less anxious about the unexpected changes to their routine. Having a clear plan for travel and study helped them stay organised and arrive on time without feeling rushed.
Over time, the student reported feeling calmer, more adaptable to change, and better equipped to manage disruptions in the future - both in their studies and daily life.
