Feature video: Plan the day with confidence using the Brain in Hand Calendar

A calmer way to manage routines, appointments and tasks, with personalised strategies ready when needed.

The Brain in Hand Calendar helps individuals feel more organised, prepared, and in control of their day. It provides one clear place to plan upcoming activities, reduce uncertainty, and break tasks or events into manageable steps — particularly when routines, appointments, deadlines, or social situations feel overwhelming.

Watch this short walkthrough to see how the calendar works in the app:

How it works

Events can be added directly into the app, or synced from Apple, Google, or Outlook calendars so everything is visible in one simple view. Each calendar entry can also be linked to personalised strategies and Solution Packs, meaning the person is not only able to see what is happening, but also access support for how to manage it. These strategies remain saved in the app and can be used whenever needed.

The video shows how the Calendar can:

  • Create predictable routines and structure

  • Break larger tasks into manageable steps

  • Link specific strategies to upcoming events

  • Support preparation for appointments, meetings or travel

  • Reinforce independence through proactive planning

Notifications can be set to help the individual prepare for events, begin tasks, or stay on track, without feeling overloaded.

With gentle reminders and a simple “now and next” layout, the calendar supports focus on what is happening in the moment and what is coming next — helping the day feel less overwhelming and easier to navigate.

Within a health and social care context, the Calendar plays an important preventative role. By helping individuals anticipate challenges and plan ahead, it reduces the likelihood of last-minute distress and reactive intervention.

Over time, consistent use of the Calendar supports greater self-management, improved organisation and increased confidence in navigating everyday life.
